Thank you to everyone who joined us for our class assembly. We hope you enjoyed our journey through stories as much as we did acting them out!
We had a fabulous time on our residential trip to Shugborough last half term. It was very exciting when a hot air balloon landed right in the field next door! We had a great time learning how to light fires, make a dream catcher, build a den and Mrs Mee's favourite - the climbing wall. Singing around the camp fire at night was chilly but fun and we loved our bedtime story.
Welcome back to another busy and exciting term in Year Two. You can find further information about what we will be learning this term and a few reminders for the coming term. If you need any information please do not hesitate to pop in to speak to me.
Year 2 have had a fabulous week trying out different activities.
We have gone back in time to try our hand at old fashioned card games, marbles and tiddlywinks. As well as donning our dancing shoes for a bit of Irish dancing – we were all exhausted after that one!!
The children have wowed me with their Christmas Wreath making this week
Year 2 had an amazing time reading books at the library and did us proud. They listened well and were excited about reading new books as well as some old favourites.

We are very much looking forward to getting stuck back into our routines and working hard! There will be lots of fun but lots of learning too. As always if you have any questions or concerns please pop in and see me
This term, our Literacy will continue to be all about reading reading reading! We want children to enjoy reading and hope you will support us with this at home. We will also be concentrating on presentation and sentence writing. In Maths, we will be focussing on using our addition, subtraction, multiplication and division skills accurately and using these to solve problems.
This first half term we will be learning all about insects that fly as part of our Up, Up and Away’ topic. I am very excited to get stuck into this new topic that will fit with our minibeats science topic as well. The magnifying glasses will be out and we will be looking at why we need insects in our wildlife and how we can help too.
Watch out for your children begging you to take them on a minibeast hunt! After half term we will be heading on a more mythical adventure with dragons! These are a selceltion of activities we will be doing:
As part of our “Up, Up and Away,” topic I would like you to investigate butterflies – where do they live? What do they need? How can we help them?
You can produce your ideas in a variety of ways as long as you work together and get creative!
The list is endless
