Year 2

Happy New Year! I hope your Christmas was a magical one and you’re ready to face the New Year with a huge smile!

Our topic this term is '1990s’ and we have already done so much in our first week back! We went to a Millennium party with Year 1 and had lots of fun talking about what millennium means why we celebrated it. We played party games and even counted down to the New Year! But now we are ready to go back in time to the 90s – How exciting!

This term Year 2 will be looking at what the Royal family and what key events were happening for them in the 90s, including The Great Fire of Windsor and the life of Princess Diana. We will be looking at music, films and books from the 90s – so if you have anything you could share with us that would be wonderful! We will also be looking at the differences in our technology as 90s saw the release of the first PlayStation! This will lead us to pixels and we will be producing some inspiring pixel art – we can’t wait to do this!

Reminders:

We get new homework every Friday that we complete and hand in the following Wednesday.

Don't forget to label all your uniform, bags and water bottles in case they decide to wander off!

P.E is on Wednesdays and Thursdays. We ask you bring your kit on Monday and take home on a Friday just in case things change within the school.

Reading books need to be in school every day and they will be changed on a Wednesday.
