At Crackley Bank Primary School, we believe all pupils are capable of achieving a high standard of Mathematics. We believe that developing a secure understanding of basic number is essential for more advanced reasoning and problem solving. Building on these skills allows children to become more fluent, giving them the confidence and resilience they need to tackle more challenging problems.

Throughout school, children take part in daily Arithmetic sessions before the main Maths lesson in order to develop rapid recall of known facts and strategies which will support them in solving problems. We believe that the repetitive nature of these sessions embed key ideas and consolidate prior knowledge, providing the children with the skills they need to be life-long mathematicians.

The school follows the National Curriculum for Mathematics, which can be found on the link below.
