Welcome to the Summer Holidays!  ☀️ 

We have put a collection of fun activities together on our Summer Activity page to keep you busy over the summer. You can also look back to some of the things you have done this year.

Remember to rest! Keep smiling and enjoy time with your family.  We would love to hear how you are doing, but if you do not get a reply straight away, don't worry as we may be trying out '50 things to do in the summer' too.

'Good Days in Unusual Times'.  This link provides a short story and thinking time for you and your child to discuss the different things that are happening at the moment and also to give you some good ideas on what you could do next.  Do not hesitate to contact us at school if you need further support.

Science:

Task 5 – Our science topic this half term has been all about the circulatory system, the digestive system and how to keep these healthy by adopting a healthy lifestyle. Part of that is to consider the effects of drugs and alcohol on the body. Click on the button, watch the video and complete the quizzes.

RE:

Task 6 – Zakah is one of the Five Pillars of the religion of Islam.  The Five Pillars of Islam are the five duties that every Muslim must carry out in order to live a good and responsible life according to their religion of Islam.  Watch the video below to learn more about Zakah then answer the following questions in your yellow home learning books:

International Olympic Day Activity

Task 5 – Today is International Olympic Day.  International Olympic Day is a birthday celebration marking the founding of the modern Olympic Games.  It is a chance for people all over the world to get active and explore the spirit of the Games together.  The 2021 Olympics Games will be held in Japan so let’s have a go at the popular Japanese exercise routine below.

 

Task 6 - Watch the film below about the origins and history of the Olympic Torch Relay.  Then, imagining you were one of the athletes chosen to carry the Olympic flame during the London 2012 Olympics, write a diary entry about the experience in your yellow home learning books.  Make sure to include your thoughts on what the flame represents.

Task 3 - Today is World Environment Day! Since 1974, it has been celebrated every year on 5 June; engaging governments, businesses, celebrities and citizens to focus their efforts on a pressing environmental issue. This year, the focus is on nature and biodiversity (the variety of plant and animal life in the world). Take a look at the website using the button below. There are videos, stories, games and lots of information about biodiversity. 

Once you have done your research, I’d like you to create an advert to promote World Environment Day 2020 (this could be in poster or leaflet form) and looking after our world! Feel free to send me your designs when they are complete!
