Reading:

Great reading work again this week Year 2 - please remember to bring your book in every day as you never know when it will be your turn to read! Keep reading at least 3 times a week at home and don't forget to write it in your diary.

Maths: 

Log onto My Maths to have a go at this week's activity all about adding and subtracting just like we have been doing in class. 

Don't forget about Maths Whizz too - you can always get some extra practice in there too. Will you be a Gold, Silver or Bronze winner this week? 

English: 

This week we have been reading non-fiction texts (the ones that give us facts and information) and picking out the facts from them. For your homework I would like you to find out (research) all about the Oceans of the World and write 5 fantastc facts about them. You could choose 1 ocean to write about or all of them. Remember your fantastic handwriting, spelling and punctuation. 

 

Science and Geography:

Hello Year 2! Welcome to this week's homework tasks. A big THANK YOU! to everyone who has completed their My Maths or sent me emails of your work - I love to see how you are getting on at home too. Dont forget to ask your adult to email it to me. 

Reading:

Spellings:

Keep having a go at those Common Exception words found on our Year 2 Crucial Knowledge page. Pick 5 that you need to practise and then put them into a sentence.

English:

This week we have been learning all about lists and commas - can you remember how to draw one? Show your adult at home then have a go at the activities on BBC Bitesize. Watch the video and then complete the online activity. You could always write some sentences out for me with commas in them too. Click the Bitesize link below for the activity. 

Maths: 

Log onto My Maths to have a go at this week's activity all about number bonds and adding. 

Don't forget about Maths Whizz too - you can always get some extra practice in there too. Will you be a Gold, Silver or Bronze winner this week? 

Geography:

Head over to Busy Things to have a go at labelling the 7 continents and 5 oceans of the world - we have been learning about these in our lessons so let's see what you can remember!

Please log onto your MyMaths Account and have a go at this week's activities. 

English: 

For homework this week I would like you to describe the pciture. What can you see? What can you find out, like Rex Retriever does? Write a list and then write 2 or 3 sentences describing the picture. Don't forget to email me your work :)

Keep on reading! It's great to see lots of you reading this week - keep up the good work and remember to pop it in your diary! 

Spellings

Keep practising those spellings - take a look at the list on our crucial knowledge page to see which words we need to know by the end of Year 2. How many can you spell already?

This week we have been practising: laughed / because / different / many. 

You can always play the spooky spellings game too to help you! 

English: 

We have been learning about nonuns, adjectives and verbs this week. Watch the BBC Bitesize videos and then have a go at the activities - click on the link below. 

Maths: 

It is all about numbers on our My Maths this week - place value of numbers, counting, tens and ones and adding them together. All the things we have been doing at school! 

Science:

This week we have been learning about habitats. Re-watch the habitat videos and choose your favourite - draw a poster all about the different animals and plants living there then email it in to me! I think my favourite would have to be where the penguins live - which habitat is that?

Well done to everyone who tried so hard with the new My Maths activities last week - let's see if everyone can have a go this week! There is a new activity set for you. Use your log in details we sent home last week to have a go at our new tens and ones activity.

We are still working hard on our spellings that we need to know by the end of Year 2. How did you like the game last week?
