Events

During the year, there are days where we get to share our learning not just with our class friends, but with other year groups too.  Keep checking back for special days and events in school.

World Book Day 2018

We will be celebrating ‘World Book Day’ on Thursday 1st March 2018.

Our theme for this year from nursery through to Y6 is ‘Share your favourite book’. Due to the success of last year’s event we will follow the same format, instead of dressing up, we would like the children to share their favourite: book, story or poem with their peers. The children can either bring their favourite book to school or share a text they have been reading in school.

Throughout the day the children will be taking part in lots of exciting activities including; story time, writing about their favourite book and author quizzes, competitions, creative activities and drama. In the afternoon classes will be pairing up to share some of their favourite texts.

World Book Day helps to promote the joy and value of books and reading. To help get them started on their reading journey, every child receives a £1 World Book Day Book Token that can either be exchanged for one of TEN special £1 World Book Day books or used to get £1 off any book costing £2.99 or more. Your child’s token can be redeemed at most UK bookshops. Have a look at the World Book Day website for games and activities.

Easter Bonnet Parade

On Wednesday 28th March 2018 we will be holding our annual Easter Bonnet Parade. Every class is invited to take part, from Nursery to Year 6!

We look forward to seeing your Easter creations. Remember, there will be a winner for each class and chance to show your hard work off to the entire school!

Have fun creating your masterpieces!

Cake sale for Leukaemia Care

We raised £285.50 at our cake sale! Thank you for all those who supported us in any way in raising money for the charity that is so close to our hearts.

Christmas at Crackley

We have all been working hard to get ready for our Christmas performances. Years 1-6 have thoroughly enjoyed singing some jolly, festive tunes to anybody who came to watch and all the preparation before the shows; getting props ready, practising actions and learning new lines. We hope that you enjoyed the shows just as much as we did! Pictures are on their way!

Early years are due to perform this week and they are very excited! It’s lovely to see how confident they are with their lines and the songs are extremely catchy – you’ll be singing them in your sleep!

We have also been busy making Christmas cards for our community. Check out the gallery for more pictures.

Mrs Smart's Headshave

To help raise money for Leukaemia Care, the very brave Mrs Smart not only dyed her hair bright and colourful shades of pink and blue, but she also shaved it off in front of the whole school! We are very proud of Mrs Smart for raising lots of money for a charity that is so close to our hearts.
