We have a special day today - Today is World Cancer Day. This is where we raise money for all of the different cancer charities that help people. We are raising money for Leukaemia Care.

Today is ‘World Cancer Day’. We are thinking about people who might be very poorly, and how we could help them and make them smile. We are also raising some money for the charity Leukaemia Care who helps lots of poorly people too. You can make a donation (if you are able to) on Parent Pay under the heading ‘World Cancer Day’. Please bring something that makes you SMILE to our Teams meeting this morning – it can be anything you like J

One type of cancer is called leukaemia. We celebrated ‘Spot Leukaemia’ in September by dressing in our spotty clothes! Can you remember what leukaemia is?

Can anyone remember how we spot leukaemia? What symptoms might you have? Look at the list below…

What do Leukaemia Care do?

Can you make a poster about Leukaemia Care and how they help people who are poorly? Or could you make a poster highlighting some symptoms to look out for? Visit www.leukaemiacare.org.uk to find out more information about the charity.

If you are feeling poorly, sometimes you feel a bit sad. It’s great when your friends and family make you feel happy again! What do they do to make you smile? Draw a picture of the things you could do to make someone who is poorly smile. Maybe you could make a ‘card’ to send to someone who might feel poorly at the moment, and that might make them smile too J

Sometimes we need our mind’s to feel happy and healthy as well as our bodies! Can you practise your rainbow breath to focus on your body and mind?
